The world is marking the 2019 International Women’s Day, March 8.
Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has taken the opportunity to join the world in spreading "thank you'' to women across the globe.
Jumwa took to social media to thank fellow women as well as appreciating their efforts in promoting social dynamism and nurturing the family unit.
She also urged the women to join their hands together for them to play a key role in the society.
In recent weeks, the lawmaker has been in trouble with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party after the party expelled her.
However, Jumwa has remained determined and assured her Malindi Constituency residents that she will be their MP for five years as per the Constitution and that there will be no a by election.
She found reprieve after Political Parties Disputes Tribunal temporarily stopped her expulsion from ODM and ordered for an inter-parties hearing on March 8.
"On this International Women’s Day, I take this opportunity to thank all women across the globe in all sectors working hard and also I appreciate their roles in promoting social dynamism and nurturing the family unit.
I have been in the fore front in forging positive visibility of women especially in my Constituency and I will continue supporting my fellow women to join the force and help play a key role in our society," she posted.
