A Benin national was on Monday charged before a Mombasa Court with causing disturbance in Kisauni area, Mombasa County.

The accused, Minakpode Rissikatou, was being accused of allegedly causing disturbance at the office of Abdalla Awadh.

The court heard that the accused, on February 16, this year, while at the office of Abdalla declared “no peace” following an interpersonal conflict.

Rissikatou was also facing charges of being in the country illegally when she presented her documents in court.

It was discovered that she had been in the country illegally since 2016 after her documents expired.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charge of being in the country illegally saying that her documents had expired after being in the county since 2015.

The accused however denied the charge of causing disturbance in Kisauni. 

Senior Principal magistrate Yusuf Shikanda ordered for the accused to be detained in police custody pending hearing of the case.

The case will be mentioned on February 21.
