Eastern Bantu speakers

The Kamba belong to the Bantu ethnic group. They live in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Other Eastern Bantus are Kikuyu, Embu, Mbeere, and Meru. 

Fourth largest community in Kenya

Sources reveal that the Kamba are around 11 percent of the Kenyans population. The other populous communities are Kikuyus, Luhya, Luo, and Kalenjin.

Mainly occupy three counties

Most of the Kambas live in three counties namely Makueni, Kitui, and Machakos. However, some of them have relocated to other parts of the country after intermarriages and other reasons.

Speak Kikamba 

The Kambas speak, Kikamba language. The language belongs to the Bantu branch of the language spoken by families in the Niger-Congo region. Their language does not have letters c, f, j, r, x, q, and p.
