Balambala MP Omar Shurie has asked Kenyans to unite and support the government in the fight against terrorism.
Shurie also wants Kenyans to ignore the narrative that terrorism is a religious affair.
Speaking in Garissa on Wednesday, the MP said that no religion supports terrorism.
He stated that those advancing the narrative that terror is a religious affair want to divide Kenyans.
The Jubilee MP said that terrorism must be fought mercilessly.
“We shall not relent as a nation and we must take the war against Al-Shabaab to their doorstep,” he said.
He asked security forces to increase surveillance across the country.
On Tuesday suspected terrorists stormed Dusit D2 hotel at 14 Riverside in Nairobi killing 14 people and injuring others.
The terrorists were later eliminated by security forces as President Uhuru Kenyatta sought to assure Kenyans and visitors of their safety.
