Popular messaging App, WhatsApp has announced a new change on the platform in terms of the way people can chat.
The new feature introduced will allow its billions of users to simultaneously video chat to a maximum of four people with every one of the four appearing on the screen.
UK-based newspaper, Express reports that WhatsApp announced the change on their blog saying that many people are using over 2 billion minutes on video calls every day on the platform.
“In the past couple of years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2billion minutes on calls per day,” the post read in part.
In order to enjoy the new feature, one is required to start a new one-on-one voice or video chat and then add another participant. Click on the new “Add Participant” icon to add another person to the conversation.
This will be interesting since it will be easier to have multiple people who have interest in the topic of conversation to interact in real time.
WhatsApp said that the new feature will be in operation beginning this August 1.
“We are excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today,” the post further read.
