Popular blogger Abraham Mutai has echoed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's claims that his leadership is being fought from some of the highest offices in the country.
Speaking on JKL show on Wednesday night, Sonko said that some top state officials around the presidency have been fighting him using some elected leaders.
He termed it the reason behind his fights with Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, whom he claimed is being used to weaken his leadership.
In a tweet minutes after the remarks, Mutai claimed that Sonko is being fought because of his strong stand against corruption, which has locked out people seeking to loot county funds.
He noted that unlike his predecessor Evans Kidero, Sonko has closed all the loopholes, which as a result, has now made him an enemy of the system, which is now fighting back.
"The system has been fighting Mike Sonko for a while now. The system wanted to assassinate Mike Sonko he fled to his home in Machakos to hide. The system wants Sonko gone. And some of us know this to be material facts. They can't loot Nairobi like they did during Kidero," he wrote.
The two on Saturday clashed publicly during the Madaraka Day celebrations in the county, leading to Passaris walking out in protest.
