The Governor also wants the police and the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to punish those who will be implicated in the murder.

He said that Sharon’s killers should not walk free.

“The government should speed up investigations and mercilessly punish those who executed the gruesome murder,” he told journalists in Kisumu on Sunday.

Nyong'o said that human life is sacred and it is cruel for some people to terminate the lives of others.

Governor Nyong’o also asked the DPP to review cases of unsolved mysterious murders.

He said that many mysterious murders most of which involve university girls are yet to be solved.

Sharon's badly mutilated body was found dumped at Kodera forest in Oyugis, Homa Bay County on Wednesday. It is reportedly said that her death was as a result of love gone sour with Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

The Medical Records second-year student at Rongo University was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

Obado has, however, denied any involvement in the murder.

Police have intensified investigations into her murder with 12 people said to have been grilled, while several others are set to be arraigned in court for her murder.

Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo is among suspects being held by police in connection with the murder.

On Sunday, DPP Haji said that his office will not spare anyone implicated.

The DPP while speaking in Mombasa on Sunday, however, called on politicians to stop speculation as investigations continue.

An autopsy report revealed that Sharon was stabbed eight times.
