Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Swarup Mishra, popularly known as Kiprop Arap Chelule, has warned residents about a fake Facebook account using his name to spread false information.
The fake Facebook account had purported the legislator would negotiate with both China and India to deliver cheap fertilisers to Kesses farmers at a cost of Sh2,000 per 50 kg bag in a bid to boost food security in the region.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, Dr Mishra said although the fraudster is raising legitimate issues, they need to be addressed with the sensitivity it deserves.
"I would like to bring to your attention the account below purporting to operate in my name. This is a fake account," read part of his post.
The first term legislator further assured the residents that he is committed to representing their every interest.
"Our farmers play a key role in food security as part of the Big Four Agenda. As a legislator, I am committed to representing their every interest and each and every plan I undertake will be communicated through my official channels," wrote Mishra.
He further urged residents to help him report the fake account for spreading lies and rumours.
