And even as heavyweights ready themselves for a ferocious contest, area Governor Okoth Obado remains a marked man within the party with East Africa Legislative Assembly MP Oburu Odinga being the latest to fire a warning shot, warning him of dire consequences if he makes good his threat not to support ODM candidate, Ochillo Ayacko.

While speaking on Sunday in Siaya, the former Bondo MP said that the party's decision to pick Ayacko was backed by law and that it is something that is practiced worldwide.

"Anybody who doesn't comply with the party's rules will face the law," said Dr. Oburu as quoted by the Standard.

Dr. Oburu's sentiment was backed by Siaya Senator James Orengo and several MPs including Samuel Atandi (Alego), Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) and Elisha Odhiambo (Gem).
