Speaking in Narok Stadium, Narok County, during the launch of the Universal Health Program, Ruto lauded Raila for shelving his initial opposition of the government.

He lauded the African Union head of Infrastructure Development for agreeing to collaborate with the government for the sake of Kenyans.

"During last campaigns, our rivals used the slogan "Yote Yawezekana" change and we used "Tuko Pamoja". And indeed things have changed and we are now together," he is quoted by the Standard.

Odinga reached a truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9, in a surprise reconciliation that took the nation and some close allies of the two by surprise.

Uhuru would later go ahead to reunite the former allies during a prayer breakfast in Nairobi in May before the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka also recently openly pledged his support for Uhuru.

Kalonzo was Raila's running mate in the previous 2017 general election where the two teams battled it out, Uhuru and Ruto proceeding to secure reelection.

Raila has however maintained that he remains the chief of opposition and will continue to correct and condemn the government whenever necessary.
