Alloys Mosoti Okero commonly known as "Shujaa wa mazingira" from Suneka, Bomorenda Kisii County will this Saturday during Mashujaa day celebrations receive state recognition from president Uhuru Kenyatta as an environmental hero.
Speaking to Hivi Sasa on Friday, his son Mr. Dennis Mosoti commonly know as Embura Embe has expressed his joy to leaders who made sure that his father has been recognized by the president despite fighting for the environment for decades.
"I once again want to thank Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Kisii county woman rep Hon Sen Janet Ong'era for appointing Alloys Mosoti Okero as the hero (SHUJAA WA MAZINGIRA) from Gusii land where he will be given state award by H.E the president of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta," He said.

Mr. Alloys is expected to be awarded the Mazingira award prize by Uhuru Kenyatta during Mashujaa Celebrations on 20th October 2018 at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega County.
Alloys Okero has done wonders in terms of beautification and keeping the environment green Countrywide. He has been frontline in sensitizing the society by encouraging Kenyans to clear trees from the river banks in order to have enough water in our rivers.
Mr Okero has one-kilometre flower street at his home ground in Bonchari constituency Bomorenda ward where his homestead is well decorated with different types of flowers.
Many choirs and musicians have been using the evergreen beauty homestead for video shooting at affordable costs.
He has done environmental beatification for Forty year's now since he left Kenya air force as an army during 1982 coupOkero will be the first person from Gusii land and the second person in Kenya after the late Wangari Mathai to receive a Nobel price in keeping the environment green countrywide.
