Deputy President William Ruto has exuded confidence that Jubilee Party will clinch the Wajir West Parliamentary seat in the upcoming by-election.
According to the Deputy President, Jubilee is the most popular party in Wajir and the larger Northern Kenya.
Speaking when he handed Jubilee candidate Ahmed Kolosh his certificate for the by-election, Ruto said they will campaign to make sure he clinches the seat.
Ruto stated that Wajir residents have confidence in the ruling Jubilee party owing to its transformative development agenda.
He said Jubilee will contest the by-election on a platform of issues, ideas, sound policy and service delivery aligned to the Big Four.
“We are not going to leave anything to chance in the by-election set for April 25,” the Deputy President said at the Jubilee Party headquarters in Nairobi on Friday.
He pleaded with Wajir West residents to come out in large numbers and vote for Kolosh.
The Deputy President maintained that the party is keen on pushing its transformative agenda across the country.
Kolosh lost the parliamentary seat after the Supreme Court nullified his victory on grounds it was not free and fair.
Days after he lost the seat, Kolosh quit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and joined Jubilee.
The former MP has exuded confidence of retaining the seat.
He is expected to battle out with Professor Yusuf Elmi contesting on an ODM ticket, Abdirahman Mohamed vying on KANU ticket and Daudi Muhammud Ali contesting on Ford Kenya Party ticket.
The Wajir West by-election is set for April 25.
