Duale says that he is not in any way influencing investigations as some people are alleging.

The Jubilee MP said that he is not a detective, adding that he will not be dragged into the investigations.

“I have nothing to influence in the investigations and police should be left to do their work,” he said on Thursday.

A section of elders in Garissa have accused Duale of allegedly siding with Governor Ali Korane who is linked to the attempted murder.

The elders also accuse Duale of allegedly trying to politicise the matter.

The MP was last week quoted warning possible retaliatory attacks if the attempted murder probe is politicised.

Police have intensified the probe into Muktar’s attempted murder.

A key suspect who confessed to having been sent to kill Muktar has since died.

David Mwai died at Parkland police station last week but police are holding other key suspects.

Police have vowed to unravel the mystery surrounding the attempted murder even as Muktar’s family accuses police of trying to cover up.

The family has also hit out at Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)  Noordin Haji accusing him of being selective in rendering justice.

Governor Korane is among suspects who have been quizzed over the attempted murder.
