Speaking during Labour Day Celebrations at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu, Governor Nyong’o said that workers have a right to demand for more, but on the other hand, they have a bigger responsibility of producing enough.

“I want to urge all workers that we must strive to do more in order to demand more. We have to produce enough to demand more,” he said.

He urged leaders to deliver on the promises they made to the people during campaigns.

“Our goal should always be efficient and effective service delivery to the people up to the grassroots,” said the first term Governor.

He reminded Kisumu residents of the upcoming Africities Summit in November 2021.

The summit is expected to be attended by over 10,000 delegates from across Africa.

“We must therefore come together and make investment choices that will make this event that brings together over 10,000 delegates a truly memorable experience,” he urged.

Last week, the governor hosted the Secretary General of the United  Cities and Local Governments in Africa (UCLGA) MrJean  Pierre Elong’Mbassi with his team, with their discussion revolving around preparations and implications of hosting the summit.
