The three; Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), Henry Rotich (Treasury) and Aden Mohammed ( East Africa), will be edged out due to incompetence.

"It's just a matter of weeks and you'll see them on their way out. The president is concerned about complaints from their ministries.

"But whether they are his friends or not, they are going out. He wants tangible output and that's why he won't spare them. Their dye has been cast," said a close aide to the DP.

While Kiunjuri is accused of failing to manage maize crisis, Mohammed is largely accused of incompetence following importation of contaminated sugar and Rotich, a close ally of the president, will pay the price for failing to manage importation of the sugar.

Also, the insider says Kiunjuri will suffer consequences of trying to outdo the president in Central while Rotich is considered by DP William Ruto as a political liability.

"Incompetence is the main reason then there is also some political aspects. Isaac Ruto will make it back to cabinet. These changes will be done soon."

During Mashujaa Day, a furious President Uhuru Kenyatta castigated Kiunjuri for maize farming stalemate, which the latter has often shifted blame to his predecessor Willy Bett.

At Mombasa on Monday, Uhuru said: "The work of ministers is not sitting in the office. Take a walk around and see if things are being done properly. This habit must change.'
