Marianne Kitany's lawyer Danstan Omari praised the former chief of staff at Deputy President William Ruto's office intellectual and cognitive abilities.
On Monday, Omari revealed to the court that Kitany, who has instituted divorce proceedings against Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, is a 44-year-old lady with two masters degrees.
The reference to Kitany's intellectual and academic achievements was aimed, in the lawyers own explanation, at demonstrating to the court that she was capable of making sound decisions.
"My client as I indicated your honour is a 44-year-old intellectual with two masters degrees with a capacity to know what is good for her, " the lawyer said.
Omari's words came on the day that the estranged wife of the former Igembe South MP faced relentless cross-examination.
Kitany wants out of a marriage to Linturi whom she accused of infidelity and fraud.
The Meru Senator maintains that he was never married to the former chief of staff at DP Ruto's office, saying that she was only a visitor who overstayed her welcome.
At the centre of the legal dispute are properties, including a state-of-the-art house in the posh Runda Estate, that Kitany says she helped construct through her contributions to the tune of millions.
