Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has condemned and called for speedy investigation into Sharon Otieno's mysterious murder.

Duale wants detectives to speedily hunt down killers of the Second Year Medical Records student at Rongo University.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament on Thursday, Duale said that Otieno's killers must be brought to book.

"We condole with the family of the young university student and ask investigating agencies to go after the killers and bring them to book,' the Garissa lawmaker said.

Duale said that Otieno's murder has shocked the nation.

The MP also said that as Parliament they will push to have all unresolved murder cases reviewed.

He said that many families of unresolved murders are crying for justice.

Ms Otieno's body was discovered on Tuesday, two days after she was abducted.

The varsity student was kidnapped alongside Nation reporter Barrack Oduor on Monday.

The reporter managed to escape from the abductors.

The family of the deceased has linked Migori Governor Okoth Obado to the murder.

The family claims that Otieno was seven months pregnant for Governor Obado.

The Governor has however rubbished claims of having a hand in Otieno's murder.

Police are holding Obado's Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo in connection with the murder.

On Wednesday, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti dispatched homicide detectives to Migori and Homa Bay to probe the murder.
