She took the political scene by storm when she joined the 2017 Nakuru senatorial race and whitewashed veteran politicians.

Lawyer and youthful lawmaker Susan Kihika had just come back to the country in 2013 from abroad. She made her debut in politics by running for the Bahati MP seat but quit after she lost the TNA ticket to her rival Kimani Ngunjiri.

After 'going back to the drawing board and restrategizing', she went for a bigger seat in 2017 and left a mark after running a well-oiled campaign.

Among her casualties in the 2017 Jubilee primaries was seasoned politician Koigi wa Wamwere.

This is proof that she is not a pushover in future elections where just like other politicians, she is expected to go for a higher seat -- the county's top seat.

And judging by her moves and the admiration she enjoys among the youths, as well as from Nakuru residents at large, Governor Lee Kinyanjui might be her next casualty in 2022.

As Kinyanjui keeps playing timid politics, Kihika has gone full throttle on vocal politics boosting her popularity if word around the county is anything to go by.

The outspoken senator continues to overshadow Kinyanjui due to his nature of gentleman's politics.

Kihika's youthful outlook will be a useful tool in wooing the youths in the race where Kinyanjui will be seeking a re-election.

In dealing with the senator, her rivals must remember that she is the daughter of Kanu-era politician the late Dickson Kihika Kimani.

Kihika senior was known for his loose tongue and political machinations that left both friends and foe confused.

Just like her father, the pretty politician seems calculative and cunning. She has already aligned herself to Deputy President William Ruto, who will also be staging a do or die bid for the presidency in 2022.

To imagine that Ruto would not favour her in the 2022 matrix is to engage in political naivety.

As such, Kihika will likely be Nakuru's next governor!
