Moi who is likely to run for the presidency in the 2022 general election was heckled by a group of youths during the event that took place at St Phillips Anglican Church.

The group sang pro-Deputy President William Ruto chants, telling the Senator to shelve his ambitions as the region remains solidly behind the DP who is also eyeing the same post in 2022.

When he stood to speak, Moi called for calm among his political opponents, wondering why they are already getting worked up yet he has not announced his bid for any post.

"I am not interested in anybody’s position for now. Some people get jitters at the mention of my name,” Moi said.

He also stressed the need for politicians to embrace a more mature mode of politicking, calling for an end to insults and name-calling.

“There is no need to hate one another or hurl insults,” he added.

The lawmaker who was accompanied by Tiaty MP William Kamket also pledged full support for the ongoing national anti-corruption push spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
