Deputy President William Ruto will now graduate with Doctors of Philosophy in Biological Sciences from the University of Nairobi in the next graduation.

In July, Ruto, who was in Central Africa for a state visit, missed from the graduation list after supervisors recommended that he 'concludes some aspects'.

And on Wednesday, Ruto, who attended a function on launching of TVET new policies, revealed that he had been held up in classroom.

"Our aim is to have our children get required skills to survive in Thai competitive environment and job market.

"Personally, I was having a presentation in class and I thank God that I concluded it successfully," he said amid applause from participants.

The DP graduated from the same institution in 1990 with degree in Botany and Zoology before successfully graduating withaatera in environmental sciences from UoN.

And his thesis that earns him PhD was entitled: "Impact of Human Activities on Riparian Reserves at Saiwa Swamp", a research he has done since 2016.

Upon his graduation, Ruto will join the league of Prof. George Saitoti and Josephat Karanja, Kenya's Vice President's who had such incredible academic qualifications.

Mr. Ruto is keen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and has lately intensified his campaigns across the region.
