Speaking in Cherangany on Friday, Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany stated that Kuttuny assumption that the money was delivered to Deputy President William Ruto was wrong.

Kutuny had wondered why the deputy president was not using the money for the resettlement of the Mau settlers who are living in fear of being evicted.

"Anyone coming to claim that demarcations were supposed to be done is playing politics. The gov’t had sourced 18B to resettle these people, it had identified land to resettle these people, " Kutuny charged when he appeared on Jeff Koinange Live.

Mr Kositany said that his Chrangany counterpart was used to receiving handouts that he thinks that money can be left in an office anyhow.

"You know, your excellency, I heard the MP for Cherangany Kutuny saying that 18 billion was left at your office. They are used to receiving handouts that they think that government money can be left anyhow (Unajua your excellency niliona huyu mbunge wa Cherengany jana Kutuny juzi akisema ati kuna 18 billion iliwachwa kwa ile ofisi ulienda ilikuwanga ule jamaa wa kitendawili. Wamezoea mahali wanaenda wanapewa pesa kidogo kidogo wanafikiria pesa ya serikali ni pesa inaanikwa kama mayai), " the Soy MP said.

The Mau eviction saga continues to consume public discourse as politicians on both sides of the debate continue to trade strong words.
