Whether he is found guilty of murder or not, Migori Governor Okoth Obado may not be off the hook yet, argues political analyst Steve Ogolla.
On Tuesday afternoon, Obado will be arraigned at Milimani Law Courts where he will wait for determining and subsequent ruling on his bail application over murder charges he's facing.
But Ogolla, at Citizen TV on Monday, said evidence linking the governor to the crime scene gives MCAs authority to initiate impeachment proceedings against him.
"Whether he is guilty or not, he is still in a hot soup. In few days time, MCAs will initiate impeachment against him.
"Being located at the crime scene is misconduct and would be the beginning of his woes," he said.
Investigations by detectives which would be collaborated by taxi driver Jackson Gombe revealed that the governor was at Kodera forest where his girlfriend Sharon Otieno's mutilated body was retrieved.
Under Chapter six of the constitution, Migori MCAs may initiate impeachment on grounds that the integrity of the county boss is a suspect.
Mr. Obado's, despite claiming he was in Nairobi during the fateful day, had his phone data traced in Homa Bay County, a finding that has thrown him into limbo.
