Known as a strict disciplinarian and no nonsense when dealing with matters pertaining government, Dr Fred Matiang'i is a type of a minister who rarely jokes.
In public functions, he's often heard speaking tough and issuing instructions. No matter how funny they may appear, Matiang'i rarely laughs in public.
A typical example is when he visited Nakuru recently and promised to deport Chinese engaging in small businesses. While the statement left his audience in stiches, he however did not show any indication of laughter.
But on Friday at Nyamira, Matiang'i was captured breaking ribs after sharing some light moments with Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri, an elder from the community.
The two were seen sharing for sometimes, often cracking their ribs outside the County Government of Nyamira offices, a rare thing in his life.
Also in the past, Matiang'i admitted that Jess staunch chorister although he said that his nature of job has affected his passion of speaking.
During the Friday tour, he held a meeting with Gusii leaders in Nyamira before proceeding for a fundraiser at Gesiaga Secondary School.
Several leaders among them Governor John Nyagarama and Senator Okong'o Mogeni endorsed his bid to be president. The powerful minister however did not indulge in politics.
