Panic and confusion gripped villagers of Marindi Village, Suna West in Migori county earlier this year, when a man believed to have died arrived at his burial planning event.
The man, 35 year old Nicholas Okello Nyamwanga had been missing for two months before showing up at his parent's home where the final arrangements of his burial were on course, leading to terror as other people, including his relatives, took off in fear.
His wife also took off at the sight of him.
The arrangements succeeded a sad announcement by one of his close friends who had reported that his decomposing body had been spotted preserved at the Migori Level Four Hospital a week prior, with the family embarking on preparing a honourable send-off for their son.
With his father admitting having been unable to identify the said body lying in the morgue as a result of its decomposing state, it was said that it had been taken there after being retrieved from River Migori.
After some minutes of fracas and confusion, Nicholas whose burial was set for that Friday, 3 days later after the fetching of the body on Thursday, would later reunite with his family who despite the shock were happy to see him alive.
