A Nakuru family is calling on well-wishers to help them clear a hospital bill for their sister who is deatined in hospital over a bill.
Freshia Wambui is detained at the Nakuru Nursing Home hospital over a hospital bill of up to Sh300.
Wambui is detained together with her baby girl who was born two months ago.
According to Peter Ndirangu, Wambui developed complications after giving birth to her daughter and was admitted at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for two weeks.
Her bill has now shot to Sh300, 000 and the family has tried to sell their only piece of land in vain.
"Our mother left us a piece of land so we decided to sell it to raise the amount but that idea did not work out since people are not wiling to buy land now," she added.
The sickly mother called on well-wishers to help them clear the bill.
"I have been here for two months, I am appealing to anyone who can help me clear that bill because the more I stay here with my baby, the more she risks being exposed to infections," Wambui said.
