While Arsenal were basking in their win over Manchester United on Sunday, something incredible was happening. A young Kenyan boy was given an Arsenal shirt by Mesut Ozil and other football accessories which included signed boots.
Ozil's attention to the boy's self-made jersey was drawn after sports journalist Erik Njiru photographed Lawrence wearing a red t-shirt with the inscription "Ozil 10" as he tended the family cows.
Njiru, on his Twitter account, urged his followers to retweet, like and share the photo of Lawrence until it reaches Ozil.
Ozil was also excited as he called for a photograph with the young lad and made his dreams come true.
“The picture of a Kenyan boy with a self-made shirt on Twitter touched me so much. 🇰🇪❤ And look at Lawrence now – it's so heartwarming to see him and his brothers happy🙏🏼😘b#SocialMediaPower 💪🏼 #HappyToAssist #Nairobi #M1Ö,“ Ozil wrote on his Tweeter account after the boy received the gifts.
Ozil later congratulated Erik for his efforts in reaching to him “Thank you @Erik_Njiru for making this possible 🙏🏼 #M1Ö” Ozil wrote on his tweet.
Erik responded to the tweet by sharing photos of the happy boy after receiving the gift. “This is very kind of you Mesut Ozil. May God bless you! Happy that my tweet reached you ❤️❤”
