President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed former Eldoret East Member of Parliament Joseph Lagat as the new Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) board Chairman.
Joseph Lagat takes over the position from former Isiolo Governor Doyo Godana.
According to a special Gazette Notice no 371, dated January 10, 2020, the former lawmaker will serve for a period of three years.
Before his appointment, Joseph Lagat was serving as the Economic Advisor of Nakuru County Governor, Lee Kinyanjui.
He also previously chaired the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB).
“In the exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(3) of the State Corporations Act. I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence forces appoint Joseph Lagat to be the chairperson of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital from the 16th January 2020,” the gazette notice read in part.
The appointment will expire on 27th March 2021.
"The appointment of Doya Godana is revoked," read the notice on the Kenya Gazette.
