Local leaders and residents in Nyamira and Kisii Counties have reacted after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i chaired a first cabinet meeting with all Cabinet secretaries in attendance.
They expressed their happiness saying Matiang'i should offer his best services to this country.
"I'm personally happy with Matiang'i's new role in government. Let him ensure those working under him are delivering failure to which he send them home," noted Peter Ondigi.
Isaac Motari a Jubilee youth leader stated that Matiang'i will not joke in his new role.
"Cabinet secretaries should work around the clock or face trouble with Matiang'i. President Uhuru Kenyatta should sit and relax since Matiang'i must deliver," he said.
Motari insisted that elected leaders from Gusii region should support Matiang'i no matter what.
Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose lauded Matiang'i for calling the meeting saying the fruits of his promotion must be seen.
"We want to see how Matiang'i should make the Gusii community proud again after his elevation. He has our support in his new roles," said the MP.
Amani National Congress (ANC) politician Thomas Nyamote argued that Matiang'i should not condone lazy cabinet secretaries.
