An 80-year-old man is crying for justice after thugs robbed him his mobile phone and bar soap.
The bizarre Sunday night incident happened in Ekerenyo, Nyamira County.
Joseph Mogaka said two armed thugs raided his home at night and demanded for liquid cash.
“I was sleeping in the house alone when the thugs broke into my house roughed me up and demanded for money.
"They picked my mobile phone and bar soap I had bought and run away,” said the tearful old man
He said he raised alarm and neighbors arrived who tired to chase after the thugs but in vain.
The aged man said he could not identify the criminals because they covered their faces with masks.
Area assistant chief Erick Soteri said the thugs disappeared into the darkness after robbing the old man.
"It is unfortunate that people are stealing even soaps. This might be the youths who recently joined gang groups to terrorize residents.
"The criminals seem to be training to do the job but I will do everything possible to ensure they are arrested,” he said.
The administrator urged parents in the area to ensure their children who drop school to join criminal groups are reported to authorities for legal actions to be taken.
