A Member of the Siaya County Assembly has claimed his life is in danger.
East Alego MCA Joseph Mboha is claiming that a group of goons has been hired with an intention to eliminate him, allegedly because of his difference with some of his colleagues.
Mboha claims that he has been warned by a county politician of the plan to eliminate him, and has been advised to be extra careful in his operations.
He says that the persons after his life are uncomfortable with his stand on county assembly matters.
"Goons have been hired to eliminate me because of my stand on some issues going on in the Assembly," he told members of the press on Friday, according to the Standard.
Confirming the same, Siaya Sub County Police Commander Justus Kucha assured the MCA of his safety, saying that the police will not allow anyone to use goons to harm anyone.
He added that investigations have been launched into the matter, alongside a patrol exercise to safeguard his safety.
"We have received a threat report from the MCA and we are investigating the matter. We will not allow anyone to use goons to threaten the lives of others,” said the police boss.
The suspension motion was moved by his Yimbo East counterpart Francis Otiato, who says that he demeaned the house by taking to a WhatsApp group to claim that the house is passing questionable motions.
