Kasalu claims that Mwilu’s tribulations are politically motivated.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, the Wiper MP said the DCJ’s case should not have been taken to court.

She said the constitution is clear on matters relating to sitting judges.

“The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has failed on these because the matter is purely judicial,” Kasalu said.

Kasalu alleged that some forces could be plotting for Mwilu’s ouster.

“We know this is politics and want to tell the DPP   to restrict himself to his constitutional mandate,” she added.

Kasalu said they will push to have Mwilu’s case heard by the JSC as the law requires.

Mwilu was arrested on Tuesday on DPP orders to answer to charges of corruption, tax evasion and abuse of office.

The DCJ is, however, out on Sh5 million bond even as the High court issued orders suspending her prosecution until October 9.
