In an exclusive interview with Citizen Television from his Karen home in Nairobi on Tuesday, the leader attributed the truce to the nation's current stability.

He termed the same as the reason behind his political calm lately.

The Orange party boss noted that he no longer needs to call press conferences to unravel wrongdoings within the government, saying that he can now simply have the issues directly addressed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"These days even if I do not call a press conference I can simply call the President and have the issue solved," he said.

The veteran politician added that the truce has as well elevated him internationally, stating that it has been well received by foreign Heads of States who have lauded him for putting the nation above himself.

"I have been praised by many international leaders for the truce. When I went to India, the nation's head of state told me that he was worried about Kenya. I was as well lauded by President Cyril Ramaphosa when I went to South Africa," said Odinga.

He initially heavily relied on press conferences to air the opposition's concerns and to expose graft and other government wrongdoings.
