Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja has reprimanded Nairobi politicians associating him with the county's gubernatorial race in the 2022 general elections.
Speaking on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen Monday morning, the lawmaker said that the group is now using the claim to politically fight and sabotage his operations.
He acknowledged that some of his critics are sponsoring propaganda that he is out to sabotage Governor Mike Sonko's operations, terming them mere propaganda.
He called for calm, insisting that he has no gubernatorial plans currently and is committed to delivering in line with his oversight roles and is not out to achieve any other goal.
"Some people are accusing me of fighting the governor because they observe me as a 2022 treat in 2022. The truth is that I have not made any such decision or declaration," he said.
He added that such remarks are also aimed at intimidating him because of his readiness to condemn the county government whenever it strays.
He added that no amount of intimidation will derail him as the public's eye on leadership matters.
"For now my only role is oversight and I will fully do it. Those thinking they can intimidate me should think otherwise," added the youthful parliamentarian.
