Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has condoled with the family of retired President Daniel Arap Moi following the death of Jonathan Moi.
Mutula Jnr took to his Twitter handle on Saturday to send his condolence message to the family of the long-serving retired president.
"Rest In Peace Jonathan Moi. Safari Rally enthusiasts will remember you and your famous Toyota Celica," Mutula Jnr tweeted.
According to Moi's long-serving Press Secretary Lee Njiru, Jonathan died in Nakuru.
Njiru broke the news of Jonathan's demise on Saturday, saying a detailed statement on the death will be issued on Sunday.
Mr Njiru urged Kenyans to give the Moi family some privacy.
Jonathan was Moi's eldest son and was a Safari Rally driver in the '1980s and '90s. He retired from the motorsport in 2000.
The deceased's siblings are Gideon Moi (Baringo Senator), Raymond Moi (Rongai MP), Philip Moi, John Mark, June Moi, Doris Moi and Jenipher Moi.
Gideon has eulogised his brother as a social, down-to-earth and industrious human being.
"Jonathan will be remembered for his daring exploits in the racing tracks, in muddy and dusty tracks, during this Easter," said Gideon in a statement on Facebook.
