Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi is the latest Ukambani politician to appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider assigning former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka duties in his government.
Mulyungi said it will be good if president Kenyatta engages Kalonzo and other opposition leaders in key development projects.
Speaking in Mwingi town on Sunday, Mulyungi said Kalonzo has the expertise to serve in any government position.
He said the Wiper leader is experienced and is what president Kenyatta’s government needs to tackle the challenges facing Kenyans.
Mulyungi added that Kalonzo has a clean history and can be trusted to serve in any position.
“We will keep on requesting his Excellency President Kenyatta to work with Kalonzo as he endeavors to leave a good legacy,” Mulyungi said.
He said Kenyatta needs Kalonzo and other veteran politicians' support to leave a good legacy.
“President Kenyatta should not sideline Kalonzo, he should engage him fully as he is doing with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga,” he added.
Last week on Tuesday, Kilome MP Thaddeus Nzambia also made similar requests to president Kenyatta.
Nzambia said Kalonzo will help Kenyatta’s government fight graft if he is engaged.
Kalonzo is said to be warming up to working with Jubilee government.
He has been declaring support for president Kenyatta especially in the fight against corruption.
With claims of looming cabinet reshuffles, speculations are rife that Kalonzo could be among the people being appointed to top state jobs.
