An elected Member of Parliament in Kisii County allied to Jubilee Party has explained why Deputy President William Ruto will continue visiting Gusii region.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i argued that DP Ruto has a good working relationship with all elected leaders from the region.
"We will continue hosting DP Ruto in Gusii region because we have a good working relationship. As elected leaders we will continue pushing DP Ruto to persuade his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, to consider allocating more funds for development in Kisii and Nyamira counties," he said.
The vocal lawmaker challenged a section of politicians more especially those from opposition to stop dragging DP Ruto into fake corruption scandals.
"Opposition leaders must stop seeing DP Ruto as the corrupt person because during his time in opposition he was not corrupt. Why is it that when he is in government he is corrupt? Politicians need to celebrate when others prosper," he stated.
Tong'i appealed to DP Ruto not to be tired visiting Gusii region saying residents will vote for him when the right comes.
He was speaking on Sunday at Keumbu market.
