A Malindi based woman who works as a matatu conductor is the latest millionaire in town.
The 28 years old Glenda Kombe Hare bagged Sh1 million from the Safaricom's ongoing Shukurani Kochokocho promotion.
It is the fifth week since Safaricom, the largest telecommunication company, introduced this promotion meant to reward customers for using M-PESA services.
Ms Kombe become the fifth lucky winner of the Sh1,000,000 weekly prize.
The mother of one who works as a matatu tout said she plans to venture into a taxi business which will be managed by her husband.
She also intends to open up an agrovet shop at Malindi town.
"I grew up in a limited lifestyle where I had to miss some of the things my age-mates enjoyed, I even could not join college after secondary school, I ended up in working as a conductor, which is a very hard career," she said.
While handing the cheque to her, Safaricom Chief Customer Officer, Sylvia Mulinge requested their customers to keep on using the service so that they can also win variety of prizes that can change their lives.
"I encourage all our customers to continue transacting on M-PESA and topping up for a chance to be one of the more than 50 remaining millionaires,” said Mulinge.
