Deputy President William Ruto's decision to book another appointment with an aim to meet retired President Daniel Moi has brought about mixed reactions among Gusii politicians.
The local leaders led by former Bonchari MP Protus Kebati said DP Ruto is desperate seeking to meet Moi after his attempt hit the wall few months ago.
"Ruto should know Moi won't make him President but, Kenyans will. Meeting Moi won't add anything to his Presidential bid in 2022," he said.
The ex-lawmaker insisted that Moi's son, Baringo senator Gideon Moi is taking advantage of his 'old' father to seek fame.
A Jubilee youth leader Isaac Motari said no one is going to stop something whose time has come.
"Ruto is a national leader who should be allowed to interact with former leaders. Those blocking him from meeting retired President Mr. Moi are doing it to get political fame but, the fact remains that DP Ruto will be the next president in 2022," he noted.
A Nyamira politician Okioma Omwancha wondered why DP Ruto can't be allowed to meet Moi.
"Some leaders must stop politicizing Moi's meeting with other leaders. Moi should meet people across all political lines," said Okioma.
