Speaking at the Kasarani stadium, Uhuru read the riot act to some Jubilee leaders whom he claimed have been insulting and disrespecting him at rallies.

He pointed an accusing finger at a section of MPs from his Mt Kenya backyard, whom he accused of engaging in early campaigns instead of focusing on service delivery.

However, speaking on Tuesday, Cheruiyot who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto criticised Uhuru's actions, terming his anger a wrong reaction from a leader.

"Losing your cool as a leader is not an option and I don’t encourage any of my colleagues to do it," said the senator in an interview on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday.

He, however, noted that he doubts whether the remarks were in any way aimed at Ruto, adding that the DP respects the Head of State.

"I don’t think there is any other deputy who respects his boss like the DP respects the President," added Cheruiyot.

Uhuru never directly addressed his deputy but instead fired shots at MPs whom he argued owe him their election victory.
