Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau has finally revealed the global body funding Somalia's Al Shabaab terrorist group.
Kamau now claims the United Nations (UN) is funding the terror cell, giving them at least ten per cent of humanitarian aid.
According to a tweet by the RTN Somali TV, the UN facilitates the transportation of food materials and other supplies to the war-torn horn of Africa.
"Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau says United Nations funds Al Shabaab. He said the UN was giving 10 per cent of humanitarian aid to terrorists to grant safe passage of food and other supplies in war-torn regions," the local Television channel wrote on its official Twitter page.
The claims now put the global agency on the spot for funding a terror cell that has been involving itself in a series of mass murder in East Africa.
Among the countries that have seen deadly attacks include Kenya, with the worst incident being the Garissa University attack of 2015. At least 56 students and staff perished.
The most recent incident happened in Nairobi's Westlands area where at least 26 people were killed in the DusitD2 attack.
