In an event, Longanyapuo was captured by the media engaging verbal war against a youthful politician whom he claimed that was being used by his predecessor Samson Kachapin.

At Kabarak, President Uhuru Kenyatta revisited the Mulmulwas phrase and the two were seen laughing uncontrollably. They had gone to condole with retired President Daniel Moi.

"I visited Retired President Daniel Arap Moi at his Kabarak to condole with him following the demise of his son, Jonathan Moi. I was impressed by Mzee's strength and his word of wisdom that "When we know Jesus, our burden is eased....and not even death can weigh us down".

"I was also privileged to meet HE President Uhuru Kenyatta who was in Kabarak too, to convey his condolences to Mzee Moi. During our discussion, he promised to visit West Pokot after First Lady Margaret Kenyatta's medical tour early next month. At one moment, we had a hearty laughter when the president joked about Mulmulwas phrase," revealed Longanyapuo.

Prof Longanyapuo was elected on a KANU ticket, beating Kachapin of Jubilee. He's a close ally of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi. Throughout 2017 campaigns, he accused Deputy President William Ruto of imposing Kachapin on the people of West Pokot.

President Moi's eldest son Jonathan Moi, a former Safari rally driver died on Saturday last week at a Nakuru hospital. The two leaders were among the first people to visit Kabarak despite the family asking members of the public to allow them mourn privately.
