Former National Assembly Clerk Justin Bundi is dead.
The late Bundi, a career civil servant retired in March 2017 and was replaced by Michael Sialai. He succumbed to cancer.
His death was confirmed by the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi on Sunday.
“It is with great sadness that I have learnt of the untimely demise of the former Clerk of the National Assembly Mr Justin Bundi,” Justin Muturi tweeted on Sunday.
He added,” Mr Bundi, a personal friend, & whom I have known since our days in school, led an illustrious career as a civil servant until his retirement in 2017.”
Muturi said that the late Bundi will be remembered for initiating great reforms during the transition from a unicameral establishment to a bicameral parliament.
He also said that the late former National Assembly Clerk will be remembered for his outstanding service as the Clerk of the East African Assembly.
“On behalf of Members of Parliament, especially those whom he served as Clerk, and the entire Parliament fraternity, I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May the everlasting love of God comfort them during this period and beyond,” added the National Assembly Speaker.
