A Kenyan based Chinese company has promised to deepen local integration, a full understanding of the local culture, national identity and political situation to boost local development.

Coloho Mall assistant general manager Tang Wen said the company is committed to improving Kenyans' living standards through job placements.

"We are currently harnessing quality talent from our qualified team of employees. We look forward to providing better terms of work. We will employ more talented young people who are currently jobless," Tang said.

Tang spoke during a team of representatives from the Chinese Embassy's visit to the company on Monday.

The representatives were led by Li Xu Hang.

The mall which has already made several headlines as the largest home furnishings and decor shopping mall in Kenya is owned by Zhong Wu E-commerce Kenya, which is a subsidiary of the giant China Wu Yi Construction Company.

The more than Sh5 billion investment located along Mombasa road at Athi River in Machakos County is the first of its kind in East Africa and is set not only to become the biggest one stop shop for the home but also to boost local development within the region.

Accompanied by Wu electricity providers Kenya Ltd chairman Zhang Jie, and Zhong Wu Assistant General Manager Tangwen, the team commended the operational status of the Zhong Wu company and the incredible management and plan of the mall.

During the meeting with the board of managers, the Embassy committed to working in hand with the mall's management to strengthen security and safety of all the employees, clients and property against any form of terror attacks which have recently been witnessed in the country.

Li Xu Hang said the Embassy has to liaise with the national government to achieve this.

"Chinese Embassy in Kenya will continue to vigorously support the development plan of the mall in partnership with the central government of Kenya to achieve their big four agenda," Li Xu Hang said.

The Company's employees are also set to reap more as the company promised to provide better terms, back their talents, strengthen the recreational activities of the employees and provide more employment opportunities for the jobless youths.

Mr. Li Xu Hang, who was speaking on behalf of the current Chinese ambassador to Kenya H.E. Ms. Sun Baohong, used the opportunity to send happy new year greetings and blessings to all Chinese in Kenya and those back home.

 It's understood that China will be ushering their new year in the midnight of February 4, 2019.
