Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has issued a stern warning to lazy government officials.
Matiang'i says that moving forward, the national government officials who fail on their duties will be sacked.
Speaking during a dialogue forum at Mkunguni square in Lamu on Thursday, Matiang'i said there are millions of hardworking Kenyans who are ready to take jobs from lazy state officials.
The CS said it is disheartening that some government officials are paid yet they don't perform their duties as required.
"We are no longer going to tolerate individuals employed by the government who lazy around," he said.
The Interior CS said all government officials and employees including the police are being monitored.
Matiang'i indicated that Kenyans deserve services and officials who are not willing and ready to provide the services should pack and go.
He assured Kenyans that the government is committed to delivering services.
Matiang'i was in the company of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)Noordin Haji.
Haji is leading a team of officials in the justice sector in 'All for Justice' service week in Lamu county.
The service week dialogue seeks to sensitize Lamu residents on alternative approaches to judicial proceedings and discuss ways of expediting cases.
The week-long dialogue started on Monday and ends on Saturday.
