This follows opposition leader Raila Odinga’s recent remarks that the nation should prepare for a referendum saying it is one of the agreements in the 'Handshake'.

Speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Waziwazi’ on Saturday, Inchungwah said there is a need for constitutional changes but 'this is not the right time'.

‘’Ni kweli huenda ikawa tunahitaji mabadiliko lakini sio wakati huu. Wakati huu mambo ya katiba hayataleta suluhu yoyote (we might need the changes but this is not the appropriate time),’’ he said.

The MP said the biggest problem in the country today is corruption and therefore all efforts should be directed to its fight.

He also stressed on the need for the country to improve its income, advising on the benefits to initiating changes at the revenue collection body to bring in more funds and stop any possible financial embezzlement within the body.

''What we need to do now is to address the corruption issue and shed more light on the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA),’’ he said.
