The four were facing allegations of stealing 10 crates of chicken eggs valued at about Sh2,500 at the farm located in Turbo constituency, Uasin Gishu county.

Confirming the same, Eldoret West OCPD Zacharia Bittok said that the police have dropped the charges after involved parties agreed to solve the case out of court.

He said that they received orders from 'above' to drop the charges, but noted that investigations pointed at the four as the thieves, also not mentioning the source of the instructions.

"Though initial investigations revealed that the four workers, who are residents in the homestead were involved in the stealing of the eggs, we have received instructions from above to allow the affected parties to solve the matter outside the court,” he was quoted by the Nation.

He noted that the case was blown out of proportion in a way that was not necessary.

The four who were workers at the expansive farm also loved in the same place, according to the police.

The release came only one day after Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny, while speaking during Labour Day celebrations in Nairobi on Wednesday, found their swift arrest questionable.

People who steal trays of eggs are quickly arrested and put on trial but when it comes to leaders who are stealing billions of public funds, police hesitate to take action,” said Kuttuny.
