On Wednesday at Kisii, Uhuru warned that he will not spare anybody accused of corruption in government, saying he will ensure public resources are protected.

In his address, Uhuru said he's ready to be tried and condemned at Kamiti Maximum prison if found guilty to serve as an example in the ongoing fight against graft.

"When Uhuru steals, he doesn't take or share with his community. Instead, he shares everything with his family and not those who protect him.

"Same as Matiang'i, if he steals, he can't hang around and eat bananas with you. I am ready to be taken to Kamiti to serve as an example. This habit must stop," said Uhuru.

He said his government will not be deterred in the efforts to fight graft, adding that public servants found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said the country will effectively manage graft if citizens work together with agencies mandated to handle the cases.

Raila said: "As people, we have a role to play. When someone asks you to part with something, kindly report. These are some of few things you can do to help the country tame graft lords."

Since taking over in 2013, Uhuru has struggled to tame graft lords but has persistently accused the judiciary of playing politics with his efforts.
