Even after the area MP, Richard Momoima confirmed that the contractor who is constructing the Kisii-Oyugis road will be pouring water on the road to reduce the amount of dust that is jeopardizing people's lives, the impatient boda boda operators have blocked the road causing a commotion.
The riders blocked the road at the bridge in Nyakoe making the road connecting Kisii and Oyugis town impassable. This is after the boda boda operators have been complaining since last week to the county government about the excessive dust but their pleas hit a dead end.

Speaking to journalists, the chairman of boda boda who only identified himself as Evans said that they had tried to negotiate with the county government but nothing had been done yet.
"We have had 3 meetings talking over the same but our cries are snubbed by the governor. Our area Mp said that he never knew about the incident that led to the contractor to boycott his work when we called him. He also said that the whole idea was hatched by the governor. So we decided to close the road and all we demand is water to be poured so that the dust can reduce," the boda boda chairman said.
" Ongwae's has now sent the police who are firing bullets on air while running after my boys," he added.
Being the market day, there is mayhem as people are rampaging as the boda boda riders fight back by hurling stones to the police and the vehicles passing by.
By the time of publishing this article, no casualties had been reported although the situation had not calmed as it was still horrid.
