Emurrua Dikkir Member of Parliament Johanna Ng'eno now says that Deputy President William Ruto might ultimately fail in his 2022 presidential bid.
Citing Ruto's ongoing woes and apparent troubles within the ruling Jubilee Party, Ng'eno observed that the DP is headed for trouble in the near future.
He noted that the second in command has only himself and his poor politicking mode to blame for his apparent isolation by among others, President Uhuru Kenyatta, terming his pride as his sole problem.
Ng'eno further faulted Ruto for downplaying other leaders and thinking that he can make it by himself, adding that the forces are now uniting against him.
According to the MP, Ruto should fall back and embrace the people he has been fighting or risk going into permanent political collapse.
“He fought independent-minded people who would have now come in handy. He thought he would succeed without them. He should retreat and embrace the people he ignored and spent his time fighting if he wants to succeed," Ng'eno was quoted by the Standard.
He said that DP Ruto did this in the run-up to the 2017 election with the hope of suppressing any opposition to enable his smooth ascent to power in 2022.
The MP has not been in good terms with the DP and has severally been quoted condemning and bashing him alongside other hostile Rift Valley leaders.
