Political analyst Edward Kisiangani has predicted shocking results should the 2022 presidential race pit ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
The two and their allies have been locked in a verbal exchange lately, though Raila remains silent on whether or not he will be taking his fifth shot at the top seat.
Kisiang'ani says that so awaited is the race to an extent that animosity is on the rise between supporters of the two, and there is need for the race to be gotten over and done with.
In a tweet Sunday, he proposed a situation where only the two go for the top seat, a contest he said will leave some people shocked to the extent of fainting once the results are out.
"Every time we give our opinions on national issues some people try hard to force us into two opposing camps-the Ruto and Raila camps. I suggest in 2022 Ruto and Raila should be the only candidates on the Presidential ballot. Some people will faint when the final result is out!" he wrote.
The political analyst also said that the contest would be better if done under the current constitution, at a time when Raila has been pushing for reforms and constitutional amendments.
He said that after that, people should reconcile, get over the poll and push the nation forward.
"The Ruto-Raila contest shud be sorted once and for all in 2022 and under the current constitution. No room for shortcuts. After that watu wasalimiane na tujenge Kenya. Wanaume ni kuonana uwanjani! (men meet in the field)," he noted in another tweet.
